Campus Life

CBR YouthConnect is located on the eastern plains of Colorado, six miles north of La Junta, a rural city with a population of about 8,000. CBRYC youth have unique opportunities to become part of this friendly and caring community. The CBRYC campus offers each boy numerous opportunities to learn and to grow. The boys have access to fitness and recreation facilities, a sprawling park, an art studio, a recording studio, green house, computer lab, chapel offering nondenominational services, and a new multimedia center, which the youth helped construct. A medical center and clinic staffed by trained medical personnel is on campus. As therapeutically appropriate, the youth also have the opportunity to attend the local high school and take part in athletic and other extracurricular school activities in town

The rural setting is an ideal environment that provides a regimen of discipline and the teaching of traditional values, such as a strong work ethic. CBRYC credits the slower pace of rural life with enabling the boys to take their time and develop the educational, vocational and emotional skills they need to succeed.

CBR YouthConnect also operates a home-like satellite facility in Pueblo, Colo., where a smaller number of boys are granted more privileges and responsibilities. The facility was developed to help boys who have succeeded at the La Junta campus to begin their transition back into the community. Click here for our Admissions Newsletter.
